Reducing Uncertainty, Developing Manufacturability
me·trol·o·gy /me-ˈträ-le-jē/ the scientific study of measurement
The investment in a metrology lab starts from the ground up. At Marten Machining, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Metrology, the scientific study of measurement, is what drives precision, perfection, and performance.
Our metrology lab was designed and developed following the guidelines of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). An entire team of specialists, ranging from contractors, scientists and engineers built our metrology lab to measure to the highest technological standards.
Verified manufacturing results, delivered with each part, using metrology automation.
Zeiss EROWA Automated Metrology Cell
- The Zeiss Prismo 9/12/7 and Zeiss Prismo Ultra 9/13/7, both equipped with fixed and articulating probe sensors and coupled with an Erowa Compact 80, reduce measurement uncertainty and provide proof of compliance in an unattended environment.
-
The Zeiss Prismo Ultra coordinate measuring machine is one of the most accurate CMMs produced and is certified according to ISO 10360-2 to have a maximum volumetric measurement error of 0.5+L/500 μm.
Robotic Pallet-Loading Automation
EROWA Robot Compact 80
One EROWA robot can maintain both the Zeiss Prismo and Zeiss Prismo Ultra for unattended automated metrology.
Dimensional Inspection Services for Manufacturing and Research & Development
The power of GD&T certification.
Our inspection staff is certified to Y14.5 - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Professional Certification from The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). These standards form the essential elements of the design language for mechanical engineering and metrology.
Our in-house technicians are here to support manufacturers that include the Medical, Aerospace, Semiconductor and Energy industries.
